BARBARA KINGSOLVER'S FLIGHT BEHAVIOUR: AN ECO FEMINISTIC APPROACH

Literary works express the ideas and feelings of human beings towards the society. They act as a foremost tool in building social construction among the people. The literary works also plays a vital role in the lives of women for their upliftment. They make women to realise their self. One such writer who strives hard to elevate women through her works is Barbara Kingsolver. Though she is an ecologist writer, she concentrates on her women characters by associating them with the natural world. Eco-feminists states that without any liberation to nature there will not be no successful in liberating women from hurdles. In the novel Flight Behaviour Kingsolver portrays Dellarobia's behavioural amelioration in relation with nature. Thus, this paper accounts on Dellarobia's ?ght or ?ight behaviour in search of her own identity

Ecopsicossociologia: abordagens ecofeministas da pesca artesanal / Ecopsychosociology: ecofeminist approaches of the artisanal fishing

Diante do cenário de crises e mudanças socioambientais, o objetivo é: (a) indicar a uma epistemologia ancorada na lente ecofeminista para entender as relações humanas e as relações com o ambiente em certo contexto social; (b) propor uma cosmovisão segundo a abordagem aqui denominada ecopsicossocial com base na compatibilidade e na complementaridade. A partir de uma pesquisa em andamento, cujo estudo de caso são as mulheres nas comunidades de pesca na região de Arraial do Cabo/RJ, o artigo apresenta uma revisão de documentos relativos à atividade, e análise qualitativa de depoimentos das mulheres da pesca no documentário Ardentia. Considerados os sentimentos e as ações das pescadoras - que, paulatinamente ultrapassam suas limitações na ação cotidiana e na reflexão constante sobre seu papel - conclui-se que o fazer feminino se articula na superação, na renovação e na reapropriação de um sentido que está sendo reinventado por elas: o lugar da mulher na pesca.(AU)

In view of the current scenery of crises and socioenvironmental changes, the goal is: (a) to indicate an epistemology anchored in the ecofeminist lens to understand human relationships and relationships with the environment in a certain social context; (b) to propose a worldview according to the approach here called na ecopsychosocial based on compatibility and complementarity. Based on an ongoing research, whose case studies are women in artisanal fishing communities in the region of "Arraial do Cabo/RJ", the article presents a review of documents related to the activity, and qualitative analysis of the documentary "Ardentia". Taken into account the feelings and actions of the fisherwomen - who gradually overcome their limitations through daily action and constant reflection about their role - the conclusion is that this feminine activity is overcoming, renewing, reappropriating and completely redefining women´s place in the fishing scenario. Vacíos en la literatura sobre filosofía de la educación ambiental:: una revisión de las corrientes de la filosofía / Ambiental gap inn environmental education phiosophy literature:: a review off trends in environmental philosophy

El presente artículo es un producto preliminar del proyecto de investigación "Una propuesta de lineamientos para la formación ambiental en la educación superior colombiana", adelantado con la Universidad Antonio Nariño durante los años 2011 y 2012. Son dos los objetivos que se persiguen: por un lado, demostrar el vacío de la literatura sobre filosofía de la educación ambiental; y por otro lado, mostrar que a pesar de que las reflexiones epistemológicas sobre filosofía ambiental son pobres, la literatura sobre corrientes de la filosofía ambiental es prolífica. De manera que el orden de la exposición recurre, primero, a una revisión de la literatura sobre filosofía de la educación ambiental; segundo, a una revisión de la literatura sobre filosofía ambiental; y tercero, a un análisis de las principales corrientes, a saber, la ecología profunda, la biología de la conservación, el biorregionalismo y el ecofeminismo.

This article is a preliminary product of the research project "A proposal of guidelines for environmental training in Colombian Higher Education" carried out with Universidad Antonio Nariño during the years 2011and 2012. There are two objectives to be achieved: to demonstrate the void of literature on environmental education philosophy and to show that, despite the epistemological reflections on environmental philosophy are poor, the literature on trends in environmental philosophy is prolific. Thus, the order of the presentation is, first, a literature review on environmental education philosophy;, secondly, a literature review on environmental philosophy; and in third place, an analysis of the main trends, namely, deep ecology, conservation biology, bioregionalism and ecofeminism.
